Feve Miniature Nativity Set from France - Mardi Gras Collection
Our FAVORITE FEVE SETS ARE BACK! Now your favorite Folk Feve Set and the Classic Pure White Set are available in a smaller set of less pieces, perfect for your Mardi Gras King Cakes!
Have you ever celebrated Mardi Gras with a King Cake? These adorable little ceramic nativities, known as feves, are from France. Each year a French family will bake the baby Jesus into a cake. Whoever gets the slice of cake with the Christ Child in it is crowned king for the day! In France this tradition is celebrated from the Epiphany all the way up until Mardi Gras, which is what we here in the U.S. are most accustomed to.
Creating a Tradition:
Celebrate the 12th Day of Christmas by having a little potluck Epiphany celebration! Exchange white elephant gifts and enjoy foods from different parts of the world. This symbolizes the gifts the Wise Men brought to Baby Jesus, as well as reminds us that the Christ Child came for everyone in the world, as the Wise Men were thought to have come from different continents. Don't forget to polish off your dinner with a King Cake to see who gets crowned king for the night!
Or for Mardi Gras, bring home this yummy tradition! Celebrate the last day before the beginning of the Lenten season, and talk with your family about what is to come.
