Mary Queen of Heaven
The colors of this beautiful fresco, featuring Mary as Queen of Heaven, would be just as much at home in today's christian home as they are in this divine monastery in Vienna. This fresco was painted during the early 1900s by Austrian painter Joseph Kastner the Younger. Not much is known about this painter, but his glorious works remain as an enduring testament to his immense love of Christ and the Virgin Mary. Most of his gorgeous frescos are in a private Carmelite chapel in Dobling, Austria.
Fresco painting is a method of painting water-based pigments on freshly applied plaster, usually on wall surfaces. The colors, which are made by grinding dry-powder pigments in pure water, dry and set with the plaster to become a permanent part of the wall. So gorgeous!
We think these paintings are amazing standing on their own but to truly make an impact or tell a story, consider grouping 2-3 together on one wall. Wow!
Available as a Giclee printed on heavyweight velvet vellum paper, or on a stretch canvas in 11x7.
