Portrait of the Virgin by Da Vinci - Head of the Virgin
This gorgeous 3/4 view sketch of The Virgin Mary's face was a preparatory study done for the master painting of The Virgin and Child with Saint Anne, held in the Louvre Museum. Completed by Leonardo Da Vinci between 1507 and 1513, it was a drawing done on paper in pencil and red chalk. It's an incredible example of his mastery over beauty with its soft and delicate features. It hangs in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
We think it pairs beautifully with Da Vinci's Head of Christ Drawing, which can be found here.
Printed on fine archival matte paper, it is available in 5 x 7 or 8 x 10.
