Troitsa (Trinity)
The icon Troitsa, which means Triune or Trinity in Russian, was written by Andrei Rublev and is arguably one of the most famous icons of the Trinity we see today. It depicts the moment from Genesis when the "three men," thought to be the Trinity, visited Abraham and Sarah and promised them a son. Gen 18: 1-16.
This piece is highly creative and positively brimming with rich meaning and deep symbolism. I couldn't even begin to describe its depth to you, so I am including a link here for you to read more about it. It's truly a fascinating piece, so worthy of an honorary place for contemplation and prayer in your home.
