Many might think we have Starbucks to thank for the "pumpkin spice" blend that the world goes crazy for every Fall, but the truth is, the iconic fall blend has been around for much longer than that!
St. Hildegard of Bingen is who we first have to thank for the iconic cinnamon, nutmeg and clove spice blend!
In honor of this dynamic woman, herbalist, mystic, Abbess and Saint, we are so excited to bring you our Cinnamon, Nutmeg & Clove hand poured, soy wax candle. Small batch poured, in a local Atlanta, GA studio, these candles are sure to lift up your soul with joy, just as St. Hildegard described way back in the 1100's!
If a cinnamon broom is your go-to staple to herald in Fall, Christmas, and all things cozy, then this warmly scented candle is 100% calling your name!
Special Gift: In honor of this incredible woman, mystic and Saint, we are including two custom-printed deckled edge prints with your candle. One, a 4.5"x4 " portrait of St. Hildegard, and the second, a 4"x6" vibrant print of her original artwork. St. Hildegard is famous for many reasons, but perhaps most notably for the powerful mystic visions in which God spoke to her directly. She recorded those conversations and would paint beautiful, abstract pieces inspired from her visions. In the one we are enclosing with your candle, she painted about Creation and we have imprinted a quote from her words, which are actually the Holy Spirit speaking to her.
Details: 8 oz hand poured soy wax candle, hand-poured in Atlanta, GA. 50+ hours of burn time, clean burning with a nice scent throw.
From St. Hildegard's Physica: “Take some nutmeg and an equal weight of cinnamon and a bit of cloves and pulverize them. Then make small cakes with this and fine whole wheat flour, and water. Eat them often. It will calm all bitterness of the heart and mind, open your heart and impaired senses, and make your soul joyful. It purifies your senses and diminishes all harmful humors in you. It gives good liquid to your blood and makes you strong.”
"I, the fiery life of divine essence, am aflame beyond the beauty of the meadows, I gleam in the waters, and 1 burn in the sun, moon, and stars... I awaken everything to life." From her theological masterpiece, the Liber Divinorum Operum (Book of Divine Works).
