History of Our Lady of Fatima
Over 5 months in 1917, Our Blessed Lady appeared to three shepherd children in Portugal: Lucia, Jacinta, and Francisco. She promised, "that God would grant peace to the entire world if her requests for prayer, reparation, and consecration were heard and obeyed." Our Lady's message to the children on the 4th month she appeared was a promise that on October 13, 1917, she would send a sign that would confirm to the unbelievers that she had indeed appeared. As promised on this date, a miracle occurred that no one could deny. Thousands of people witnessed as the sun danced in the sky. It is referred to as "The Miracle of the Sun" due to extraordinary solar activity-the "sun appeared to dance in the sky and advance towards the earth." This event and Our Lady of Fatima's predictions have confirmed this apparition as true and miraculous. Our Lady of Fatima urges us to pray this prayer every day to help souls make their way to heaven.
